As we celebrate 30 years of connecting independent, community-based retailers and vendor partners, Purchasing Power Plus (PPP) is continuing to grow through our Retail with Purpose initiative. As part of this expansion, PPP is opening doors to a broader range of mission led retail environments while introducing the PPP Exchange — a system built to strengthen partnerships and create shared, measurable success.

Launching October 1, 2025, the Exchange connects vendors and retailers in a verified purchasing cycle that rewards engagement, strengthens relationships, and sustains PPP’s programs for the long term.

Our 30th Year Expansion: Building on Strength

PPP currently serves more than 500 active member stores—hospital gift shops, pharmacies, and community rich retailers that buy consistently and receive a 10% savings on vendor orders as part of their membership.

The PPP Exchange’s goal is to build a new segment of up to 100 community-rich retailers who will be onboarded through the PPP Growth Fund between late 2025 and 2026. These new retailers participate under a verified order model where 5% is discounted immediately, and another 5% is applied toward their renewal credit.

Both groups of retailers will appear together within the PPP community and interact with participating vendors, but their purchasing activity will be managed differently behind the scenes.

• Core Member Stores: Continue their current 10% savings benefit on vendor orders. Their renewals follow the traditional membership structure.
• Exchange Retailers: New community-rich stores that join through the Growth Fund. Their orders are verified and tracked within the PPP Exchange model to earn renewal credits. These stores will be clearly delineated.

This dual approach allows PPP to sustain its strong foundation while responsibly growing the community.

How the PPP Exchange Works

The PPP Exchange is a simple, transparent system designed to make every purchase count.

Vendors and retailers continue to work directly—PPP does not process or manage orders. PPP verifies, tracks, and reconciles sales activity between Exchange vendors and PPP retailers. Each verified sale contributes to both retailer renewal credits (for Exchange stores) and the sustainability of PPP programs.

The core flow:

1. Vendors contribute 10% on verified sales to PPP retailers: 5% applied immediately as a discount to the store, and 5% paid quarterly to PPP into the Exchange Fund.

2. Exchange retailers order directly from participating vendors and receive the 5% discount.

3. Exchange stores submit quarterly proof of purchases to earn renewal credits.

4. PPP verifies totals, invoices vendors for their 5%, and applies earned credits to store renewals.

5. Any excess value remains in the Exchange Fund to support technology, education, and community programs.

Core member stores continue receiving their full 10% savings under their standard membership plan. Their orders are not tracked through the Exchange system.

A Two-Year Partnership Designed for Growth

All new vendors joining PPP after October 1, 2025, will participate through the Exchange-based partnership model—a two-year program designed for measurable ROI and long-term engagement.

Vendors connect with both segments of retailers:
• The 500 core member stores, which continue receiving a full 10% savings.
• The new Exchange retailers, whose purchasing is verified and contributes to renewal credits.

Classic Program – $3,000 total (two years)
Premier Plus Program – $4,000 total (two years)

Each includes a $500 annual sponsorship that fuels retailer growth and marketplace visibility through the PPP Growth Fund.

The Renewal Vendor Pool

All vendors participating in the Exchange become part of the Renewal Vendor Pool—the group of suppliers eligible for sponsored-store purchases and renewal credit tracking.

Exchange retailers commit to:
Placing at least $10,000 in orders annually with vendors they’ve never purchased from before, all within the Renewal Vendor Pool
Engaging with PPP events, tools, and updates designed to strengthen buying activity

For vendors, this means visibility across two levels of retailer engagement: a proven base of 500 member stores and an expanding group of Exchange retailers committed to active, verified purchasing.
