Introducing Hospital Gift Shop Day

A national moment for the small shops that do so much.

Hospital gift shops are more than a convenience. They’re the heart of the hospital — a place to pause, to connect, to care through something tangible. Flowers for a friend. A snack for a long shift. A plush that says “you’re not alone.”

This November, we’re launching Hospital Gift Shop Day — a day to recognize the impact of these essential spaces and the people who run them with heart, creativity, and care.

Here’s how your shop can take part:

  • Download one of two ready-to-print signs — designed to help you celebrate your space and start the conversation.

  • Display it at your entrance, counter, or anywhere your community will see it.

  • Snap a photo and share it with us or tag us on social — we’ll amplify your stories across the PPP community.

We’re also taking the next step: submitting Hospital Gift Shop Day for official recognition by the National Day Calendar. Your participation — and your photos — will help us make the case that these shops matter.

This is more than a day. It’s a statement:
Independent hospital gift shops have always shown up for their communities. Now it’s time to show up for them.
