Question:  How do you track your PPP savings?

Reply:  We track PPP as a separate expense account. We log each discount amount per eligible vendor/invoice to this account along with the yearly fee; and at the end of the year we run a report which calculates our savings throughout the year.  Jamie Hernandez, Gift Corner & Loose Ends Saint Vincent Healthcare, Billings, MT

Question:

We have a very large gift shop in a new facility that has been opened 20 months. An expansion will occur within 3-4 years that will increase the hospital size by 50%-from about 450 beds to over 700. I have been asked if we would like a presence in the new section. We DO NOT have payroll deduction and it is not on the horizon (at least in my lifetime!) I am really not sure how to answer this question and know that some of you have satellite stores. This one would be in the same building, really not that far from what would be our main store, but the visitor parking garage may be relocated so that all visitors will not walk by the front of the hospital where we are now located. Labor and Delivery will not be moving to the new section, which would make the decision a little easier. Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.  Gail Mason, UT Southwestern Medical Center Hospitals, Dallas, TX
