About Zoologee
In 1994, John Lizewski started The Petting Zoo with three bears and a big dream, taking the title of Chief Teddy Bear Salesman. His brother JoRoy, the Master of Toys, joined soon after, and together they built a thriving, multi-generational family business. The Lizewski family brings each toy to life with care and creativity, from sketch to stitch. For more than thirty years the company has served the world’s most trusted zoos, parks, and aquariums, and brought joy to families everywhere.
As the vision grew, The Petting Zoo became Zoologee, a name that better reflects its commitment to nature, learning, and imaginative play. The name changed, but the heart did not. It is the same family run company making the same beloved plush toys, now with a name that captures the wonder and curiosity behind every animal they bring to life.
